Be the Light!

I am so excited to have connected with my new friend, Morena. She and I will be working together on fusing her creative candle making with my artwork. I am very excited about these beautiful candles and have aspired to create function + art for quite a while now.

We are launching our first collection just in time for Mother's Day. A candle infused with my painting called "Now, I Know". A friend once said that having her first child made her realize just how much her own mother loved her when she was born. That sentiment and realization influenced my own new motherhood charm and influenced me to create the painting "Now, I Know". The original was the first painting to make it to a gallery and sold within a few days.

The candle is 8" tall, 2" diameter and can be scented or unscented. The outside is embellished with the "Now, I Know" print, crystals, glitter, and a shiny clear glaze. The light from the candle will not affect the embellishments and beautifully shines thru the art. The candle can be used as a vessel or vase once the wax has burned away.

Very limited quantities will be available for Mother's Day which is May 12th. They will be available at a special price of $15 + shipping. Red Lotus!

I am excited to unveil my new series called "Red Lotus". The "Red Lotus" series is a fusion of painting, digital enhancements and my own positive affirmations. This series has been in my head and heart for a long time. It has finally manifested! It is fueled by my desire to not only create art but to heal + inspire others as well.  I encourage sharing these images within the social media pathways as a way to brighten someone's day and to heighten my exposure as an artist. I hope to create a positive web woven through beautiful art and healing messages.

So what does "Red Lotus" mean? In, Buddhism, the red lotus symbolizes the true nature of the heart. It is the lotus of love, compassion, passion and all other qualities of the heart. The "Red Lotus" series was created with art and inspirational messages to encourage and inspire others to live in their hearts. Oh and red is my absolute favorite color.

 I am having so much fun creating these special pieces and I will continue to add to the series. I have been jotting down positive affirmations in my journal since I started my healing path many beautiful moons ago. Currently, the images have hit the press so I will be listing the series in my shop one by one. I am working on offering a variety of items at all possible price points to make the "Red Lotus" series affordable to everyone. I don't want economics to hinder anyone's healing.

Hold You Close

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a blog called Manifesting Love. If you haven't read it, check it out here. The blog speaks of the power of painting and my intention to manifest love through the painting process. Many authors and life coaches speak of creating vision boards and writing letters to manifest desires. Well, since I AM an artist, why not paint my intentions?  Since everything is made up of energy, why not put the appropriate energy into the painting process and the finished piece to create what I want. Well, that's just what I did with "Hold You Close."

I just applied the last coat of varnish to "Hold You Close" which is my first finished painting of 2013 and the first piece of the Manifest Love series. It measures 24" x 30".  It hangs gracefully in my living room. I took pictures of a few layers along the process which you will see in the pic below. Enjoy!

Manifesting Love...

Recently, I have awaken to the notion that my paintings are mirrors. They reflect feelings and emotions that are embedded within. Furthermore, they are amulets that reflect what I want to manifest. For example, after finishing one of my paintings called Open Heart, a series of events unfolded that supported my healing towards an open heart. At that moment, the power of painting was confirmed. To me, painting is more than beautifying a blank canvas. Painting is my direct route to aligning with source so I can be my true self, support my life purpose and manifest the life I imagine.

As 2013 continues to pick up momentum, I'm going to do a little experiment. I'M GOING TO MANIFEST LOVE. The pic shown is my first painting of the Manifest Love Series. I wrote the words "I Am Love" as the first layer. I believe that possessing self love and believing that we are the embodiment of divine love are the very first ingredients needed to manifest our desires.

Each painting of the series will have "I Am Love" as the very first layer. As usual, prayers, music, incense, metaphysics and music will accompany my sacred process of painting So, stay tuned as I use the power of painting to manifest love.

Wow! I am still buzzing from the amazing energy that transpired yesterday on 12/12/12 at my New Beginnings Artist Reception at Inspirador/Tryst Gallery. In fact, as I ran errands today, I had to keep checking the clock because I couldn't comprehend time. I am floating in another dimension that is wonderous. THANK YOU friends and family for supporting my artist reception. Special thanks to Jennifer Emperador for archiving this special moment by taking pictures and Scott Clark for being my delightful left brain.

I am so fortunate to be able to show such a large collection to my friends and family all at once. Being an artist is a lonely life and it's not for the faint of heart. However, the rewards go beyond words that reach the depth of my being. This special artist reception finally allowed me the chance to express the reason why I am so out of touch sometimes or why I'm always covered in paint. This artist reception allowed for me to express what happens when someone's dream is bigger than the Universe and that colorful times can/will/do follow dark times. I showed them who I AM and how my life purpose is blossoming. I am grateful.

New Beginnings Art Collectionwas inspired by the alchemy of turning a lackluster dream into golden opportunity. Each painting represents a little piece of my story that goes beyond paint. Each painting holds every opportunity that manifested or didn't, every relationship that bloomed or seized, every teardrop that fell and every triumph that glistened. These moments were the force behind each brushstroke and the fuel that created this collection of art. New Beginnings Art Collection is for me, my friends, my family, and for:

  • Every artist that envisions any degree of success and who arrives at each opportunity to unleash his/her creative purpose.
  • Everyone that spoke the words "starving artist" or who told me that art wasn't a career. Well, I AM an artist and I AM success.
  • My ex-husband whose spirit must have loved me the most since he brought the most pain. All the hard lessons and infinite tears turned into independance and self discovery.
  • All the dissolved friendships. Their absence invoked pain that encouraged me to alchemize loneliness into creativity and resentment into forgiveness.
  • All the rejection and dates that never amounted to anything. That rejection became a seed that blossomed into self love.
  • My parents who still don't "get me". I finally realized that you love me the best way that you can. It's lovely. Any "extra" nurturing needed was self nurturing.
  • All the spiritual teachers and authors that taught me through class or written pages. Your words and philosphies became building blocks for growth and intellect.
  • All my art patrons and art fans who fueled my artistic purpose.
  • Jesus. Jesus is like the boyfriend that I really liked but I just couldn't fall in love with. Jesus symbolizes empowerment which led me to find my own spiritual path and answers to my spiritual questions.
  • Buddha. Buddha is my love, my muse. Buddha taught me unattachment and to look within.
  • My invisible spiritual team who provides, intuition, grace and guidance in the most subtle ways.
  • The art of meditation. Meditation allowed me to release energy that no longer served me which allowed for immense creativity and transformation.
  • Every soul that ever hurt on any level and looked at the pain with gratitude realizing that the pain was an opportunity for change.
  • My Creative Genius that works overtime finely tuning my artistic style and voice.

Sneak Peek at the New Beginnings Art Collection

Happy Weekend. We are four days away from my New Beginnings Artist Reception at Inspirador/Tryst Gallery. Here's a sneak peek at some of the paintings that will warm your heart. The paintings listed below are all new paintings. Prints will not be available until mid 2013. So come on over to the show and take a looksy.

To celebrate this holiday season and specatacular transformative day, I will also be selling 20 mini prints that were hand embellished with ribbon, paint, and rhinestones. Reiki - A New Gift to Share

Hello friends,

The past couple of months have been a whirlwind of arriving at opportunities manifested by my inner soul. I've been graciously busy and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. Recently, I have been attuned to the gift of Reiki (Ray-kee) healing. Reiki is an ancient and profoundly simple system of "laying on of hands" healing derived from Tibetan Buddhism. In the West, Reiki has been kept highly secret for many years. (Essential Reiki by Diane Stein) I spent 3 days with my friend/teacher/healer Barbara learning about Reiki, practicing, and being gifted this energy to heal others. I am now a Reiki II Practitioner looking forward to sharing this special healing energy with others. Let me tell you briefly of how this unfolded.

2012 was a transformational year for me. I discovered the profound results of sitting still and meditating. I heard, not once but many times, that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Well she did. I met Barbara at a social gathering and we both new that our meeting was for a reason. BTW, everyone we meet whether positive or negative is intended in one way or another. Just before meeting Barbara, I was advised to heal myself before I heal others. I agreed. Once I put that healing intention out to the Universe, it manifested.  Barbara gifted me with a few Reiki sessions in exchange for art. The Reiki sessions allowed my mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual layers to release what no longer served me. As I released this unneeded energy, I created space for my true self to shine and for my true purpose to reveal itself. I am soooo grateful.

So, what now? Well, I plan to fuse the Reiki energy into my paintings so that my art patrons can connect to my paintings through the 5 senses and benefit from its added energy. I am practicing on friends right now and hope to further this healing modalities to others whether near or far. In 2013, I will add a page to my website expressing all these great services so I can awaken + connect + heal others.
